Fax over IP
The Replix fax server supports Fax over IP via T.38 “real-time” fax protocol over an IP network in conjunction with Dialogic
Brooktrout SR140 fax software or TR1034 fax board.
Softlinx Replix Fax over IP server enables clients to leverage their existing
Voice over IP infrastructure for a fast, secure and robust IP fax server solution, which is certified by Dialogic Brooktrout
and interoperate with Voice over IP equipment from a number of leading vendors
such as Cisco, Avaya, Alcatel and Dialogic.
For Cisco-based network, the Replix Fax over IP server works with the following Cisco products to leverage client's existing
Cisco equipment.
Cisco Unified Communication Manager (Cisco Unified CallManager)
Cisco Integrated Services Router
Cisco AS Universal Gateway Series
Cisco High Performance Gateway Series
An Example FoIP Configuration with Replix Fax Server and Dialogic Brooktrout SR140 or TR1034 in a Cisco-based Network

In the above diagram the Replix Fax over IP server equipped with the Brooktrout SR140 software or TR1034 board
receives fax calls through the Cisco Unified Communication Manager (IP-PBX). The fax server processes a fax
and transmits data using the T.30 protocol within T.38 packets over the IP network
to a Cisco Integrated Services Router (VoIP gateway). The Cisco ISR repackages the fax data into T.30 protocol
signals for transmission over the PSTN so that a real-time protocol
exchange occurs between the two fax endpoints over the network: the Replix fax server and the receiving
fax machine.
